Capsules for dry eyes
« on: December 10, 2014, 07:29:26 PM »

Ok my memory is useless, someone mentioned about taking capsules which really helped their dry eyes, but can't remember who they were or what they were called!

Would be great if someone can tell me.

Not sure but it might have been me? They were Thera Tears capsules ( not the drops)

I don't take them any more as my eyes haven't been as bad but I do think they helped.

This is interesting!
I've been having trouble with a sore eye. It's got a bubble in the corner! Went to the Dr who said it was nothing to worry about and it would go away and just to try some 'soothing'eyedrops. I got some brolene drops which helped a bit and it did go away but then....it came back  :'(
Wonder if these capsules may help? Have you got any more info about them or any more ideas?

Hi,
I suffer from dry eye syndrome, worsened by peri. I regularly take Omega 3  and as needed I use Systain Balance eye drops. This regime works miracles. Initial relief can be achieved by warm camomile tea bags put on the eyes for a few min every day. They help the glands release more oil to lubricate the eye surfice.

I'm with milamam all the way. Fish oil (omega 3) capsules (500mg if 1000mg cause gastric reflux) Systane eye drops (you can get them on prescription) and I have an eye bag but the concept is the same as the tea bags, the warmth just lasts longer.

Thank you ladies I knew you'd come through for me!

Do you think the kril oil ones would be ok found 500 on line and they are quite small.

I'm going to look at the drops too as I use clinitas or vicatears.

I found krill oil rather expensive. Just Vitamins (online) do a 500mg fish oil at £9.95 for 120 if that helps.

smokey if I can get them down anyone can as I have a small swallow like my mum had.

Just Vitamins have a no quibble return policy so if they don't suit you can return them for refund

if you go to their site at justvitamins.co.uk and search fish oils for the omega3 500mg capsules there is a little image in the top left corner. If you click on the little image it enlarges and you can see the size and shape against a ruler  :)

I have just had a refractive lens exchange and my surgeon recommended Omega Eye for dry eyes. He uses it himself. It is expensive but well worth it. You can get it a bit cheaper online. It Is Omega 3oils with Vitamin D3 and I have been taking it for two months and noticed a difference not just in my eyes but my skin also. It has other health benefits as well. My daughter also takes it for dry eyes and she swears by it.
