Breathless with hot flushes

Does anyone get breathless with hot flushes?

This morning I felt my heart beating faster than normal, I walked up the stairs and felt so breathless.  I sat down and had what I think was a hot flush.  I suddenly felt very warm and my face and chest was bright red.  My pulse went up to about 102.  After a couple of minutes it all calmed down.

Could the breathlessness be a hot flush?

Thank you so much for replying.  I wasn't sure if it was a flush or I was just panicking because of the breathlessness, but it only lasted a few minutes and I think if it was panic it would have lasted longer.

It was quite scary.  I haven't had many flushes, I have felt hot and wondered if it was a flush, but never really sure.  Guess I will have to get used to it :)

yep, even after all this time I forget and wonder why I feel so ill all of a sudden, like I am going to faint, then the flush kicks in and I remember.

If it's any consolation I had it quite often for nearly 4 years then this year I am getting periods of respite from it. In a way it makes it worse because I forget how it feels and then they decide to come out to play again  ::)

Hi Toffee cushion

Yep get it too. I did read that as Oestrogen falls the body gives us a blast of Adrenaline.......makes sense then to me with falling hormone times that we  speed up with adrenaline as the body reacts that way. I though I was just so ruddy unfit!

Hope it helps

I get breathless but I have been recently diagnosed with COPD and have an inhaler.
I notice that getting wound up makes me breathless and often flushes wind me up.

Hiya

I have had this too on and off.  I told my GP and she said when they happen breath through them.  Deep breath through the nose and slow breath out through the mouth and this really helps.  It is really frightening though.  This hasn't happened for a while now. Not since I started on Evorel patches.  Hope yours improves.

Hi Yes I get the breathlessness too as part of a hot flush.
Mainly happens at night with me; I wake up a couple of times,  hot and gasping like a fish out of water, but half- asleep still.
I can normally just go back to sleep now after a few minutes, and I can actually see the funny side of it, doing my fish face thing  !
