Black Friday
« on: November 28, 2014, 02:31:45 PM »

Horrified watching what some will do to get a bargain. Really, fighting? The fact that some poor folk have been injured in the crush is just awful. Nothing so wild & raucous at our local Stresscos. Busy yes, but apart from that it's been quite civilised.

I could not put myself through that for a bargain. Why not buy online, not so stressful.

The supermarkets are very quiet today, we went into ASDA for OH to collect his prescription, much quieter then unusual, then onto Sainsbury's, very quiet, I got a jumper for half price.

Probably all at the big stores.

I think the original idea behind Black Friday in America was for businesses to get out of the red and back into the black by selling off old stock, it has escalated into something else now.

Some lovely bargains to be had though - especially online with no crowds to jostle with!

Unfortunately stuff I'm wanting for Christmas doesn't come under Black Friday banner. Gave my list to Santa. I wanted him to choose from list, but think he's buying the lot, so no surprises. Hey ho mustn't grumble.
