Secret santa
« on: November 17, 2014, 04:24:46 PM »

I  have to do 2 secret santas, each for a fiver. Has anyone got any ideas? My mind is blank for the moment! Can't think of anything at all. And both for women!

Have a look last year's thread?

Sweeties?  Small bars of soap - either hand made from a craft fair or Heacham Lavender?  [there are other companies but I know they do small soaps ;-) ]

Scented candle. Good hand cream, a lovely nail varnish.

Chocolate anything.

We upped ours to £10 this year as it was difficult to get anything for a fiver last year. Women are easier than men to buy for though I reckon.

It depends on what the women like of course. Are they named women or do you just have to buy for an anonymous woman?

I have joined my Sisters family secret santa this year. Always made cookies and cakes before but thought I would give this a go.
It is £16 and each person provides a wish list of 3 items
We still by for the little people as it is lovely to watch their faces as they open their gifts

£5 is difficult though, how about luxury chocs or the little knitted stretch ballet type slippers (Marks sell them) or a pretty lavender bag for drawers/wardrobes or luxury shower/bath wash

£5 is hard, however some of the supermarkets have some nice stuff on special deals at the moment.

Bed Socks  ?

M&S do some for a £5 for 2 pair pkt or £2.50 each- i am buying them for nieces to put with a token - they are either going to laugh or find them useful !

Last year my secret Santa made me an A4 sized  word-search which was framed in a nice wooden frame (you can get them from supermarkets cheaply). All the hidden words were things to do with me: my personality, title of favourite song, pets' names and family names, favourite food and tipple, places I like etc. It was printed in black apart from my name (hidden in the grid) which was in red ink.
It sounds mad, but was actually really lovely. The Santa had clearly done his/her homework on me!

I got mine a mug from Ebay which I had personalised with a relevant message and picture. It cost less than a tenner. You can get key rings printed even more cheaply.  B x
