I didn't have a very good time on this, it started off with headaches and feeling sickly, I persevered then from month three suffered with stomach cramps and being sick, I felt awful, in the end the doctor took me off them, but I have heard of other people who got on well with these pills, I think it varies from person to person.

Hi

I have been prescribed the above, please can I have reviews good and bad, thanks xx

Was prescribed this early this summer. Within days hot flushes abated, skin & hair looked so much better, but put on several pounds (may have been cos I was more chilled out).
When I took the second tablet I started "getting mad with everyone" and had the most horrendous period, housebound for days. Process repeated with the second pack. Stopped taking halfway through the third pack as doc didn't seem willing to offer anything else.
Disappointed to do more research & find it is the cheapest & one of the oldest ones.
Now doing the alternatives (black cohosh, red clover, healthy diet, wearing layers) which reduces hot flushes but doesn't stop them. Hair ok but skin decidedly blotchy.
I would advise trying it & if you don't get on with it to go to another GP in the practise who is more clued up on menopause. The receptionists often know which GPs specialise in what.
Good luck x

I was on it for three years and it suited me very well. However I take Femoston 2/10 now and am fine on that too. The only reason I changed was because I developed Rosacea and wanted to see whether a different HRT might settle it down. (It didn't).

On your other thread I said that this one (similar) worked for me. Don't dismiss it just because it is one of the older ones. There is a reason for that - it works, otherwise it would have been withdrawn! We are all different -  it may work for you as well.

I did quite well on it for the first 3 months, the second 3 months not so good - increased anxiety and palpitations etc. I was changed to 1mg Climagest and that was no better. In the end I came off HRT and haven't looked back.

There is a huge wealth of clinical data and patient experience with Prempak but as we are all so different, we have differing needs and even then, what we need one month may not be the same the following months. It really is a 'suck it and see' approach. Give it a try for 3 months. If you are fine, stick with it, if not, change type (oestradiol/oestradiol valerate), route of administration (patch/gel/Estring/Mirena etc)) or try other therapies like herbs/acupuncture.

At the moment, I am settled on Menopace Plus, 1000mg Starflower Oil, 1000mg Vit C,and an extra 250mg Magnesium Citrate. I have my ups and downs but on the whole, am better than when I was on HRT.

Good luck

Galadriel x

P.S. I anticipate things will change for me so maybe I might give patches/gel a try... who knows  :D

Hi Karenja
I was on Prempak C for several months.  For the first week I felt a bit sick - rather like morning sickness which improved after breakfast.  After a couple of months my night sweats improved.  It didn't happen overnight but I know some people improve straight away.
However for me personally I began to suffer the most awful periods.  As I had previously had bad periods I had been really pleased when they stopped but to find I now had a false period which was even worse was something I couldn't stand.  It could well be that I have fibroids and the hormones triggered the problem again, so this could very well not affect you in the same way.
I'm now on Premique low dose but with poor symptom control.  My GP changed the medication as I am period free and over the age when it can be safely prescribed.  I asked to change HRT after 6 weeks and my GP would not consider this.
You do have to give it several months to get the full effects.
Good luck on your journey.
