Hi well Im two and a bit weeks into Femseven and cant get on with it, my anxiety seems worst Im assuming its connected, so Im going back the doctor armed with the pip code for Utrogestan tomorrow as she couldn't find it in the book last time, if she cant find it again don't know what the answer is, Ive tried Elleste Duet, Everol Sequi and now Femseven, something has got to help surely, as Ive had the estrogen only patches on for two weeks and had the progesterone patches on since Thursday (now cut in half) I don't know if they will start me on anything else yet, I didn't have  period for three months on Everol or since then xx here's hoping for a miracle

Also having my first glass of wine in ages been nervous to drink incase it makes me worst cheers ladies 🍷x

so the doctor could not find Utrogestan despite me taking a pin code, she didn't know what a pin code was, suggested if I took details of manufacturer this may help???, so now she has prescribed prempack?? excuse if Ive spelt wrong as ive left the prescription in the chemist to be ordered, she said this has utrogestan in it???.

I have to keep the femseven progesterone patches on (halved as Ive cut them) until a week next Thursday then wait to see if there is a bleed, if there is a bleed start new hrt on day one of the bleed, if no bleed I have to go back to have a blood test to see where I am with peri/menopause, basically December a year since last natural bleed but I had a bleed months ago when I came off elleste duet before end of course, it gets v confusing

I don't know if Prempack will be any better fed up of trying and not getting anywhere, I guess the next step is to come off hrt altogether and find an alternative???, think prempack are tablets not patches.

Didn't even mention my anxiety apart from when she asked why I was on hrt in the first place and I said night sweats, flushes and anxiety, but didn't mention how bad anxiety has got, as I have done so many times before... the saga continues any thoughts on Prempack (Im sure this is not correct spelling I will check later xx

I was on Premique which is a similar (but conti) tablet and I found it the best of all the HRTs I had tried.

So glad to hear this have been googling (lethal) and read awful things its got horse urine in it and also the risks don't read great, I know patches are better but I just want anything that will work, and my gp's cannot locate micronized progesterone so this is my next option, feel FRUSTRATED but thanks x

I don't know about the code - it was Dandelion that managed to sort this out - it was a PIP code I thought but hopefully she will elucidate!

Prempak does not have Utrogestan in it. As you can see from the list of preparations here: http://www.menopausematters.co.uk/perimeno.php it contains a progestogen (maybe this is what the GP said or meant?) - but a synthetic one called Norgestrel - which contains levonorgestrel - the one in the Mirena coil and Femseven combi HRT. As you probably know it also contains horse oestrogens many of which are not found in the human female.

Personally I would not go from an estradiol patch to one of the Prem- type HRTs. These are old fashioned and the cheapest and the type studied in the large study that all the fuss has been about that led to some safety concerns.

If you are going to take tablet HRT I would go for Femoston not Prempak!

It is just so frustrating that GPs are not up to speed. I would urge you and anyone wanting to get Utrogestan prescribed to print off the information on this site which lists the licensed HRT types on this page:

Anyone can find the info eg the Summary of Product Characteristics on the web - and would have the means to look up how to prescribe it if they are a GP! https://www.medicines.org.uk/emc/medicine/19896 They will need to know that the 200 mg dose of Utrogestan has been discontinued so if you are taking it on a cyclical basis they will need to prescribe double the amount of 100 mg Utrogestan.

It is ridiculous that we have to tell doctors this and of course they may not take our word for it if they are ill-informed.

You are entitled to try Utrogestan, to see if your anxiety improves when you are using bio-identical progesterone.

Personally with your history I wouldn't take Prempak with its horse oestrogens as well as synthetic progestogens because some sensitive women react badly to it. However we are all individual so who knows really, it might just work for you?

thank you Hurdity, I am really unhappy at the though that Prempak includes horse urine and increased risk, I agree I don't think its the right move for me, I hate the thought of going back to the gp again but I am getting nowhere, is it too much to ask to have something to help.

I would prefer to be on patches or try Utrogestan if they can find it, I will take a print out next time, I have to wait until a week Thursday now to wean myself off the Femseven.

am seriously considering going private for advice cant really afford it but worth a try, don't think there is anybody in Wales though, Dr Annie in Bristol I have emailed her x

The prempax is being delievered by pharmacy today, but not due to take it for a bit, I assume I can just take it back to gp as my thought are I don't think its for me, I also emailed Dr Annie in Bristol who I can have a private appointment with and then she reports back to gp and she is familiar with micronised hrt, anybody used her?? tempted x
