I work for a train operating company in York - quite a few of us went to the short service at the Railway War Memorial in York (as we do every year). Very moving, especially the silence when the police stop the incessant traffic going past for the 2 minutes.

A normal working day for me but we did observe the 2 mins silence and switched all the phones off.

If I'm at home then I have the TV on and have the silent two mins.
I did not even suggest it to mum as I would have to explain and sometimes it's just too hard.

I missed it - usually I stay quiet and observe the silence.
I was on my way to get my boobs crushed - oops - mammogram.
