I know we have had something like this before but I can't find it.
I have just finished a lovely book called The Legacy of Elizabeth Pringle by the broadcaster Kirsty Wark.
I would really recommend it.
Anyone else read anything good recently.

I love all the Dorothy Koomson books, I have them all. They are definitely chick lit and easy reading but these days that suits me

This a very old book from Victorian times, on Health and Beauty, you can read the whole book online by clicking on "Full Screen" below the book.

I've got an old book which my mum read. I bought online. Her copy was full of grubs & I had to bin it.
Really must read it sometime. Most of my books are on my tablet/kindle.

Im reading several books currently: "Nazi Women"; "Finding Peggy" set in Glasgow; and another about a daughter of Auschwich (sp) survivors which I am finding really difficult to understand ……… plus magazines
Have this morning finished Clare Balding's "Walking Home" another page turner for me ........

I've just bought Gone Girl....looking forward to reading it.
The book I spoke about is based on the Isle of Arran. It's very descriptive and I read things about the island I never knew. I look at the island every day and loved the story of two women, one who has lived through the first and second world war.

Got a book from the library, by Jung Chang - author of Wild Swans.
This title of this one is, Empress Dowager Cixi.
Didn't think I would like it, but it's very readable.

I've been reading some of the books on my shelves and rediscovered some gems. Crow Lake by Mary Lawson is wonderful. She is a direct descendant of L M Montgomery (Anne of Green Gables) but apart from the Canadian setting there is little resemblance. I'm so glad I bought a copy after getting it from the library.
