Hi Rosebush, I can't speak from experience as I do not take baths but my mother swore by Epsom Salts in her bath.  It is not specifically for arthritis but the magnesium is absorbed through the skin and can have a lot of health benefits and can do no harm. don't take my word for it though, check it out and I expect others will soon drop in to give their own advice :-)

Magnesium spray is popular for joint aches, so if you want an equivalent for your bath then epsom salts might be worth a try.

Very old fashioned but it's supposed to work.

I think you are perhaps wasting your money on anything else.

Rosewood when I am feeling achy I use

Weleda Arnica massage balm I use this after a bath, it is lovely to use.

Arnica Massage Balm 100ml
Weleda Arnica Massage Balm is a traditional herbal medicinal product used for the symptomatic relief of rheumatic pain, muscular pain and stiffness, backache, fibrositis, bruising, cramp, sprains and minor sports injuries. This is based on traditional use only

Essential oils an be used in the bath for joint pain mix with a little milk or oil.

http://health.howstuffworks.com/wellness/natural-medicine/aromatherapy/aromatherapy-joint-pain-relief.htm

If you can get to a health shop you will find lots of balms and rubs to help with inflammation.

I found that magnesium spray and Epsom salts in the bath, dried my skin and stung too.

Epsom salts or magnesium flakes.

Epsom have the added benefit of drawing toxins from the skin.

Both should help sleep.

Kneipp do a herbal range for a variety of ailments.

There's no whiff with mustard  ;D ……… we used it for soaking feet/legs when tired.  Made into a paste first then gentle stirred into a bowl of warm water ……………

If you put a lot of Epsom Salts in, don't swallow the water, or even stay in too long!  ;)

I think you have to be really careful what you soak in. It can dry your skin and also your lady bits.

Bubble baths are a real no no for those with VA and related problems.

Oils, if chosen carefully should be fine.
Silver Lady is fund of knowledge about that.

Even shower gel can cause havoc with vaginal problems.

That was nicely put HB.  Easy seeing i am new to the world of meno, VA etc. Lol

And here was me thinking that sitting for hours in epsom salts would help my cellulite.

Back to body brushing it is then.
