Uti again

Hi.ladies I did post here a while ago.on a different subject but wanted some advice on a recurrent problem I'm.getting.
For the past few years I have been experiencing utis, sometimes when my gp.has done a dip test it's showing white blood cells and a little blood, then.when.they send the samples to.be cultured it.comes back as no.infection.
I also thought that now I have taken to.using.condoms whenever me and my.husband have sex that may help.but tbh.it's worse I'm.now down.with.a whopper of a uti.
I was due to.start on.hrt last month.and my.gp.told me to.start my patch on.day one of my period I didn't do.it as last month.I had two.separate bleeds.
The patches iv been.given are everol continue.
Has anybody had uti problems before going onto.hrt then.once they started hrt the utis went?

Have a look at the Vaginal atrophy threads on here.  As your symptoms, I began with similar, eventually my GP diagnosed VA and with treatment the problem is under control.

Symptoms of thinning of the vaginal skin causes dryness = itching, with oestrogen symptoms can improve.

"My Bladder etc." I think I called my thread  ;)

Go back to your GP or Practice Nurse and ask for treatment to ease symptoms of Vaginal Atrophy.  The usual 'loading' is 2 weeks every night followed by 2/3 times a week.  The sooner you get treatment the quicker symptoms will ease  ;)

You'll be fine using the patches if/when you are prescribed something.

Hi porcia - I had many uti's and this was one of my first meno symptoms but I didn't realise it at the time. Like you I had lots of times when my urine showed both white and red blood cells but no infection. In the end my doc put me on a maintenance dose of antibiotic. It was only after a year of this and still suffering from the cystitis type feelings that I did some research myself and came up with vaginal atrophy. I went back to my doc who decided that I may well be right and prescribed vagifem as I didn't have any other meno symptoms to warrant full HRT. Within two weeks of starting vagifem everything was much better and I discontinued the antibiotic. I didn't have any more cystitis feelings or utis. Eventually I went on to full HRT and still had no problems. It's interesting that last August I had to stop HRT due to my age (60) and a month later I had the worst upper uti I had ever had which took a couple of months to clear and left me feeling horrible.

I think that HRT will be the answer you need! If you are still having periods though I think you should be on Evorel Sequi and not Conti? Can you check which patches you have been given. GP's can make mistakes over the right HRT - mine did!

Some sweating anxiety, depressions, Headaches. Sinus problems, muscle tension, changes in my periods list can go on lols x

That will be a sequi HRT then not a conti one so that's ok. The first two weeks of patches contain just oestrogen and the second two weeks have progesterone added to them. You  need the progesterone to keep your womb lining thin. You will probably find that it's two a week of one kind for two weeks and then two a week of the other kind for the second two weeks of the month. That's the normal dosage anyway.
