I cannot tell you, although I guess I'm getting ready to, how helpful low dose beta blockers are for all the associated anxiety. My doctor years ago was so wise when he told me to use a BB when I needed one or two rather than daily. Meds and I do not get on well, thus taking only when needed is super. For me, and I do have asthma mildly, the BB helps with palps, shortness of breath, irregular heart beat and anxiety. Mine usually hits when I wake or maybe an hour after and the BB tones things down in twenty minutes. I hate Valium and the BB seems much more natural to slow the adrenalin response, rather than depress the central nervous system. I take only five to ten milligrams of propranolol. I was a heart nurse and am very comfortable with this routine. Hope this is helpful in some way.
