Hi

It's three months since I last had a period.
This one is weird.
Sorry for the graphic description, but the blood coming out looks weird.
It looks old, like a browny colour.
It's like the tail end of a normal period, only there is more of this old blood, about the amount I would expect for the first day or two of a period, but I dunno why the blood is brown.

You probably didn't shed all of your womb lining last month. If your hormones are not quite in sync then you might have stopped shedding before it had all been got rid of. This happens during peri menopause.

I'm also on Femoston 2/10 and mine have been like this every month since starting it (January) -  Taz, if it indicates the womb lining is not being shed completely is this not a concern? I just thought it was probably normal for this stage of menopause which at age 54 is likely to be 'post'?

I have also had this especially so in the last two years since I started skipping periods.I am not on HRT but wonder if it is simply due to the hormonal levels.

Morwenna - I don't think Dandelion is on HRT which makes the difference.

could you confirm this Dandelion?

I didn't have this period issue when I was on Prempak C for two years previously so assumed it was either a feature of being post menopausal or a 'side effect' of Femoston?

But if it's caused by the womb lining not shedding properly (for whatever reason) does this mean I should be asking for a scan or something? 

I don't mean to hijack Dandelion's thread - we seem to be experiencing the same thing, but I wasn't concerned about it until you suggested that Taz!

Hi all,
I havent been on here for while,sorry for that.
I am also on Femoston 2/10 for already 4 months. My first period was fine, but the second was as you describe Dandelion. Doc said no problem not to worry. The third period though didn't show up at all! So I am a bit worried, too, whether the lining is shredding well. Will be putting another call to the doctor next week.

Ah right - I didn't read the signature. Is Femoston 2/10 a sequi type of HRT where you are supposed to have a monthly bleed?

Yeah it is.
I had no bleeds for 3 months, then this bleed, came on time, but a weird colour. Also, there is normal blood there too. Is this all in order?

I'm in the first week of the oestradiol only pills.
Period was on time, it normally comes in the first week of the oestradiol only pills, well, except for june and july when I got no period at all.
It's not a problematic period, it's just all that brown blood that appeared.
Today, though, the blood has been red.

Hope it's ok to bump.
I'm just clarifying whether there is a problem with my lady parts.

To summarize

Am on Femoston, still having periods (see sig line below)
No period for last three months until this week.
First week of first phase of femoston(oestradiol only pills)
Period came this week on time, but at first there was lots of brown blood, then yesterday blood normal colour and now period seems to be coming to an end.

I had exactly the same, wasn't on hrt at the time. Saw doctor who said this was normal when approaching menopause, its old blood, nothing to worry about as long ad you are not spotting etc , its just a different type of period
