Fitness and stamina
« on: July 19, 2014, 06:12:03 AM »

Does anybody have any tips on how to gently build up fitness and stamina?  I know mine have dropped and I have several demanding things ahead of me this year that I could do with more of both for.  I don't have many hours available in the day for anything like this, which doesn't help, but I am aware that I need to be doing something about it now.
Thanks!

Swimming about 3 times a week works for me.
If not raining, then a short, hilly, 1 mile walk twice a week.
Neither take long but they do energise me.

A static cycle?  Hoovering?  Ironing?  Hanging washing out, bringing it in off the line are all good exercise.  How much walking are you able to do during the week?  Running up and down stairs each time (awkward in a bungalow though  ;) )

Skipping?  I know that I don't do enough exercise but on a busy gardening day I can walk 'miles'  ::)
