Final Periods Light?
« on: June 16, 2014, 09:51:16 AM »

Well I got to 11 months and then all the signs of an imminent period returned! No hot flushes or night sweats, but had ovulatory mucus and even felt romantic again three weeks ago, and then last week the signs of a period coming. Just like last year the bleeding is so slight it only needs a liner and is mostly in the morning. Not red so far more brownish and mostly when I wipe. I know when I had my last few periods they were like this, so my question is really for ladies at the end of perimenopause or who finished and had no HRT, what were your last few like were they more like spotting?

Exactly like the one you describe.  Intermittently for 4 months then nothing  :hapij:

Thank you so much for your reply. It helps so much as having heavy periods all my life light ones are rare! In fact I am not sure this even counts as one as it is so light- was that your experience? Panty liner enough and nothing most of the day after the morning? Did yours go on for more than 7 days?

Throughout my menstruating years I was ill, heavy bleeds, clotting, intense pain and nausea until I went onto the Pill.

My periods became intermittent ……… panty liners were useful.  My periods were 1-5 days getting less and less …. without PMT symptoms, they simply happened.  It was 5 years before I travelled anywhere without protection!

Exactly as you have said. I haven't had an old style heavier/normal one lasting 6 days for about 4 years now. Mine just got lighter and lighter and less frequent. For the past 4 years they have lasted no longer than 2-3 days except for just 1 which went on for a fortnight but very light. Mine are now infrequent and very irregular. I had nothing for 7-8 months until Feb this year when I had a 1/2 day one. I had a brief spotting a couple of months later. Now waiting to see what happens next. :-\

Unfortunately many of us have the exact opposite Machair...as I got into my 50s they became so much worse, painful and heavy and lasting nine days or more. Then when I hit 52/53 they lasted for months on end finally last one lasted 6 months and I went in for a hysterectomy. I think some of the ladies will be along with the same type situation... :-\
