I seem to dimly remember the 1966 world cup final being on the TV.
Me and brother were at my Nan's house. I think the reason it was on was because her
"gentleman friend" was there.

Dulciana has just quoted my lovely mum in law, now sadly dead. I have only been to 1 football match in my life, when I first knew my hubbie. I remember being extremely bored, cold and distracted by how knobbly his knees are. I understand he played well, but I remained underwhelmed. I am vaguely pleased if his favourite team wins and I supposed I will be vaguely pleased if England wins. Yawn......

I don't mind the World Cup. It's the premier league that I'm not mad on, it's on all the time, the season seems to go on forever.  I will stay up tonight and watch the England game (might need a power nap this afternoon though).

I remember the World Cup in 1966 I was doing the ironing while watching it on TV.

Its the only time I have ever really watched a match and been enthralled , never  watched or been interested in football since

Now I am with a guy who has played, refereed and fanatical about watching it ::)

Some Sundays it's all motor sport here, making it difficult to fit everything in  ::)

Plus our own hobbies ……… we really need to get out more  ;D

Hubby watches F1, snooker, golf and cycling. I watch the tennis for two. weeks a year and then he has the cheek to complain when I watch Emmerdale  ::)

Hubby & son watched football this afternoon. Hubby shouted at TV saying 3 players were offside, but son laid into him about offside rule! Don't get me started!!!  ;D

No sport in our house - thankfully hubby isn't that bothered about watching it mostly although he did watch the highlights of the Holland/Spain game and was chuckling loudly (he's Dutch).  Payback for the last WC when Spain beat Holland in the final  :)

Son has invited himself round for tea tonight to watch the Germany match. So much for me thinking all the games would be after I'd gone to bed  ::)

I'm really not into sport but hubby loves the football - so the World Cup is on and I entertain myself with some crafting, a glass of wine and my cat :-) I don't watch soaps any more either, although is used to be glued to them!
