Feeling Sick
« on: June 12, 2014, 08:43:03 AM »

Hello ladies I feel terrible and need to rant a little if you don't mind.

I am using Evorel patches and Utrogestan but I still feel so yuck everyday. Not only do I still have flushes but I've woken up this morning feeling really sick. Since starting the patches six months ago I've had some spotting but last night there was more and when I used the Utrogestan vaginally I felt sore, which has never happened before.

I'm at a complete loss with this hormone business, I'm feeling so low and despondent. Nothing seems to work. I am 57 and haven't had a period for three and a half years and I just want to feel normal!

Sorry for the moan but my family don't really understand how awful I feel.

Thank you for reading and take care everyone.

I am sorry I cannot offer you any advice but I can give you a :bighug: !  Not fun feeling miserable when others cannot understand.

Hi Kathleen,

I'm sorry you're feeling so down and sick. I had similar issues on a different HRT and it's no fun trying to explain to people who will never understand what you are going through. I don't have any experience with the HRT you're on. I just wanted to send you a

I'm sure someone with advice will be along soon.

In the meantime, take special care of yourself.

Hello LilFeather and Galadriel and thank you for your replies.

I'm feeling sorry for myself as this horrible menopause just gets too much sometimes but it's a great comfort to know that other women care and understand what you are going through.

Wishing you well.

Hi kathleen

So Sorry you feel horrible.

I too am on Evorel patches and sometimes I wake up an feel sick too.  As soon as I wake up I have a cup of tea and a ginger biscuit which helps.  It only lasts about half an hour for me.

Do you feel sick al of the time?

Hope you find something to help.

Shazzie xx

Hi Kathleen,

It sounds as though the patch dose is not suiting you... your flushes are not controlled and yet you are still feeling nauseous. I wonder if a change in patch and dose or a move to a gel might help. I've seen other ladies on here talking about how they can tailor the gel dose to suit their needs and control the side effects to make them more manageable. Maybe have a talk with your GP or Nurse Practitioner to see what they can suggest for you.

I hope you find a solution soon.

Hello Shazzie, Galadriel (again),CLKD and Dyan.

Thank you all for your replies.

Shazzie - Yes the horrible sick feeling lasts most of the day and has started to affect my appetite. I just don't want to eat when this is going on, although I do force myself.

CLKD - I do feel the strength has been sapped out of me at the moment.

In so many ways the HRT has helped, I feel less jittery for example, but this low mood and nausea is proving difficult to deal with.

Once again ladies I am so grateful for your comments. Thank you!

Take care all.

Hello CLKD.

Good point!  I'll definitely consider a change of meds.

Take care and thank you.

Have a talk with your Practice Nurse or a Pharmacist tomorrow, Lloyds have private rooms for discussion these days  ;) and let us know how you get on!
