Hi everyone

 Last period was June 2013-11 months ago, and now I think I may be ovulating as I have had three days of stretchy clear mucus. I guess I wait to see if one starts or not in a couple of weeks.

Regarding the days of what appears to be ovulatory mucus, do any ladies still get this after menopause from time to time with no periods?

Being 54 I had hoped this would be over now but maybe the ovaries haven't given up just yet.

Did any of you have long gaps between at the end? I know if this goes over a year and restarts I must visit my GP, but just wondered if you have had 10 or 11 month gaps before they finally ended for ever.

As I understand it, the clear mucus is driven by estrogen. The presence of estrogen or clear mucus doesn't necessarily mean you will ovulate.

Have you considered charting your basal body temperature? A sustained spike in your temp, followed by a bleed would indicate you ovulated.

I've been charting my bbt since 2011, it's offered me assurance that I'm not ovulating even though my hormones are still swinging..

Yes, I will have it for awhile and then it goes away. The guessing was driving me batty. My BBT is the only thing that gives me peace pf mind.

I haven't ovulated in 1.5 years, in that time I've had spotting (confirmed fibroids) and on and off clear mucus. My temperatures though, tell me it's part of this menopause ride and not ovulation which will = a true period.

There are many free sites out there to chart your bbt, I like Taking Charge of your Fertility because there is a message board that has a great group of women going though peri together.

I have been charting since I came off the pill, after a couple of episodes of cervical mucus and no period.  Since then, I have had months where there seems to be a half-hearted ovulation that does not get anywhere and rapidly fizzles out, then several months of no ovulation but loads of random periods.  This month, I have had minimal mucus but classic temp rise, for the first time in 18 months.

I started doing it so I could work out when I was getting a period, and avoid getting constipated.  It hasn't really helped on that front, but I now have 2 pages of spreadsheet graphs which are interesting.  I am turning into a bit of a boffin.
