I have so many new aches and pains, it's hard to know which ones I should go to the doctors about. I found a website listing the 35 symptoms of perimenopause (I'm 47) and every single one on the list I have experienced in the past year. I swear, I have a new one every week, in a different place. I don't want to seem like a hypochondriac to my doctor, nor do I have time to constantly be going to see him. Googling symptoms is never a good idea because every symptom leads to cancer, which leads to anxiety. My husband is 51 and says he has new aches and pains all the time so perhaps it is just an age thing but I'd be interested to know if any women my age experience the same thing.

I don't think there is any point going to the drs unless you want them to prescribe HRT. Do you?
It's a waste of time seeing a dr about aches and pains, unless you think you might have something like arthritis, or chest pains which could be linked to your heart.

Have you looked at your lifestyle- both you and your husband?

it's easy to blame menopause for everything but in middle age an unhealthy lifestyle catches up with people!

Lots of aches and pains are due to lack of exercise and a poor diet.
The aches and pains can be lack of exercise because your joints literally start to seize up through lack of use! They lose their flexibility.

Eating plenty of fish oils- 3 portions a week of oily fish- and lots of fruit/veg and little sugar can make a huge difference to how you feel.

Do you do any exercise?

Unless you have a very specific pain, like back pain which prevents you from working or living a normal life, then I'd say there's no point visiting your GP. Everyone, male & female develop aches & pains as they age. Heck you should hear my hubby when he stands up. I've offered WD40 on occasion.  ;)
