I no this might sound dull but is there a difference in Everol and Elleste oestrogen I am wondering if maybe a change will make me feel better. I honestly don't no, I would love some help on this.

If you go to the green part of the menu on the left and select HRT preparations the ingredients of all HRT products are listed.

Thanks Sarah2 I had a look and it seems that its the same, but one is a higher dose than the other.

I can't find Evorol on the list as tablets.

Hi Anjia

I have answered your queries quite a lot on your other threads - and I'm not sure what you are still wanting to know?

The actual estrogen in all the patches is the same - estradiol ( or estradiol valerate which converts to estradiol in the body). This is the same estrogen as in all the pills (inlcuding Elleste) except for the ones beginning with PRE (like Premarin) which are conjugated equine oestrogens (made from horse urine).

As I've said on your other threads, the amount of oestrogen that you get into your system from the tablets or from patches will be individual to you, and in particular a lot of the estrogen taken in pill form is "wasted" because it is lost through digestion and metabolic breakdown, which is why there is more oestrogen in the tablets.

I recall (I think?) you have recently changed to 40 mcg patch (and I can't remember how long you have been on this) which is not a high dose - so if this isn't dealing with your symptoms after changing from the patches after a month then I would suggest increasing the dose. Make an appt with your gynae or meno specialist and in the meantime why not trying one and a half patches? I am well post-meno and when I reduced from a 50 mcg patch to 37.5 mcg ( almost 40 mcg!) my symptoms came back. From what I remember you are much younger.

Thankyou Hurdity I know I may sound confusing but to be honest I am. Lack of sleep is really getting me down I have now read up about patches and am starting to understand,you see after I had my hysterectomy I was given an estrogen tablet 1mg to take every day which was fine for a year then it started to wear off and in the past few weeks its been hell,yes flushes,nightsweats,insomnia I just cant think for myself I have an appointment Friday with my gp again so I will ask for a higher dose of the patch maybe Ill get my life back.
