Tiredness
« on: February 19, 2014, 05:42:37 PM »

Oh, this fight between sleeplessness and tiredness!  Yesterday, I was fine - had a great sleep the night before and could have conquered the world during the day.  Ditto the day before.  Last night not so - awake at 4pm, back to sleep then awake at 6pm and that was it.  Brain fired into action and down to the computer, firing off 2 emails.  Then came the slump - that "stinging, peeled eyes" feeling, yawning through breakfast, feeling weepy, getting tetchy with hubby for talking about what interests him, and with the cat for miaowing in the wrong way, and have dragged myself through the day since then.  My eyes still feel stingy and "peeled" and I just want to shut them but I can't, as I have to go out for a short time tonight.  Life is such a yo-yo just now and so unpredictable.
Hum bug!   >:( :'( :-\

The change in sleep patterns is one of the worst parts of meno! Most of us have to muddle through with little to no energy.

Good luck tonight!

dulciana - I can definitely relate to what you describe.  My nights are so variable - and even on a good night I'm up at least twice to have a pee - if I can't get back to sleep it's torture as I know I will feel dreadful the next day.
I'm going to talk with dr about my nighttime visits to the loo - they are so much worse since I came off HRT.  DG x

And just to show how tired I am, I've just noticed I put 4pm and 6pm instead of 4am and 6am!!

Insomnia has been one of the worse meno problems for me. I have always coped better if I got a good night's sleep.
My kids are still disrupting my sleep  ::). My daughter lives away during the week. As part of her uni course she is in a work placement. She has to be there at 8 am so needs to be up at 6:30am. Guess who is her back up alarm call. Yep me.
That happens twice a week.
My son has started a new job and has to be out by 7am. I can hear him clattering about and that's me awake.
Oh for some peace.
Even the dog gangs up on me. As soon as I open my eyes in the morning she seems to know and sits at the side of the bed and cries to be fed.

Oh just to be left to sleep when I can.

When I was so poorly at the beginning of the year, my husband went to sleep in the spare room. He found he was sleeping better, only going to the loo once, instead of 3or 4 times. As I got a bit better, I too found I was sleeping better. We decided we were disturbing each other. Now we have compromised and start the night off together, then he goes to the spare bed after a loo run. He does look cute under the Very Hungry Caterpillar duvet. I think also that sleeping better is one of the few benefits I have experienced from taking Tibolone. It is good to sleep.
