Speaking of Warners - I made hubby laugh over this. You know the advert for Warners where a couple are gardening at home whilst their neighbours are off enjoying all sorts of activities on their Warner's break? Well I said to hubby that the "garden" woman was like me and the "neighbours" were like our friends who are always off enjoying trips!

It tickled hubby because the garden woman did actually remind him a bit of me with what she said about preferring to have peace and quiet at home and she even looked a bit like me-  especially the grin at the end. ;D

Ariadne xx

Love the Ad for Warners Ariadne, the one of Colin dreaming he's on his holidays is good too ..... until the 'wife' wakes him up !

Spain - close to Malaga - considerably warmer than the weather here at mo .... it's pants.  Property will be safe and secure - Gendarmerie have all info and will 'keep an eye out' and they know our friends have keys if needed.  Neighbour over the road misses NOTHING - a car passes and she is out of her chair to see who it is !!

As for UK - off to friends in Burton on Trent - Son & Daughter live within 5 miles as are family.

Yep, see my earlier post CLKD. It's a beautiful place. We were able to make use is someone's appartmernt, chap hubby knew through work had bought a one room place, beside some shops, handy for bakers in the morning.

It would be quite a drive in your camper though. We flew to Geneva & got a transfer to Chamonix.

Sorry - missed that, or read it and the details went straight in one side and out the other  ::)

Don't fly, hence the camper.  Looked on Google Maps destinations last night and it would take 9-12 hours so would need to stop a couple of nights.  Awning arrived this morning  :bounce:

We will have been married 30 years this July, but last year we went to NZ for a month to visit our daughter and it cost a fortune. So we are going to go to away for a long weekend somewhere.

But I have decided to have a tasteful for your eyes only photo shoot,  :o. For our 30th and then a weekend away, so want to get this VA sorted out before then.  ;D

How will you get across the channel CLKD ?  Over or under.

Started looking at a few places. We can't go too far away and the phone signal has to be good. Mother is just too old now and despite some not so gentle hints about respite care she is digging her heels in  :-\

Looking at an artist's village on the West Coast that appeals to hubby. It does look very pretty and I have not been there before although we have stayed in the general area quite a few times.

I get a bit claustrophobic and after all those people got stuck in the tunnel it kind of put me off. On the other hand if it's a rough crossing then   :sick02:

Between a rock and a hard place there.

Hubby & son will be going under when going to Belgian Grand Prix in August. Only takes about 30 minutes of being under apparently. Daughter's partner went to France that way last year, said it wasn't too bad. Me, it's the water above the tunnel that would bother me. Never liked the Clyde Tunnel for same reason, but thought it great when I was a lot younger. The older I get the more  :-\  I become!

I used to try and hold my breath going through the Clyde tunnel as a child. I still do the same now.  ;D
I really hate it though because 30 odd years ago my car broke down in the tunnel and I had to climb up onto the very narrow walkway to call for help. I was terrified.

I hate being in a confined place with strangers. One of the many reasons I don't especially like flying although I will do it.
