I have been on Evorel Sequi for about 4 years now. I changed to Evorel Conti because I was sick of bleeding every month. I have been on Conti for 3 weeks and have had bleeding every day, very small and darkish bleeding..Why am I bleeding still? Any advice on this matter would help.

Hi margot.

Bleeding when you first begin a conti HRT is very common and is mentioned in the side effects. It should settle within six months. Had constant bleeding when I tried it so chose to go back to sequi as at least I only had a few days a month of it.

I am on the same HRT and when I moved from sequi to conti I had the same problem.
It took about four months to stop bleeding completely but now I am fine.

It's a pain but stick with it because it usually settles down and is not unusual.

Thanks for the help. I will give it 2 more months...if I am still bleeding , I may look for a suitable alternative. My sister swears by Magnets..may give them a try. I don't want to be bleeding and therefore tired for 6 months...yaaaahhh help.  :-\

Margot, I am the same :( I hadn't had a period for 2 years then I started taking Everol conti 4 weeks ago. The first 2 weeks were great, hot flushes went, I started sleeping through the night again. 3rd week I started bleeding and it is continuous. I am feeling so tired.

Hi margot

I just wondered how old you are? One of the reasons you may still be bleeding is that you are not post-menopausal yet. Doctors will change women over to conti at age 54 if they went onto sequi while still having periods. Were they still fairly regular when you started HRT?

If this is the case then sequi might be better - as a regular bleed is better than an irregular one, but I agree with honeybun and Taz, maybe give it a little while longer unless you are think you are probably not post-meno yet.

Like Taz, I am still having a cycle despite the fact I am 60, and there are several of us on here that do. It is a nuisance but sometimes better than the alternative!
