Hi all,
Hope you all managed to have a good Christmas, hormonal washing machines notwithstanding! To the newbies here, hang on in there...it gets better. I went from a very assertive, NEVER ill, very capable mum/partner/director to a rubbishy hopeless depressed incapable tearful mess having regular panic attacks (they are na-a-a-a-sty beggers) and a list of physical symptoms that covered an A4 sheet...extraordinary. It DOES get better!
Anyway - to my surprise I had a period this month - five years after my last one. I was diagnosed as early menopausal five years ago, and have had (a noted above) a splendid rainbow array of symptoms. Have been using Progesterol and Oestrogel, and stopped gently this spring to test what would happen, as most of my symptoms were easing. Have been fine, although can trip over bouts of anxiety, still get hot at night, and sex drive is long gone. Oddly enough, just as my period was ending, my libido turned up for one night - I actually enjoyed sex - first time in a LONG time. Probably a couple of years.
So - anyone any ideas why a period turned up after this long? Is it normal? and how can I make it happen again if it brings my sex drive back with it?

Thanks, all! You're wise and wonderful.
M
