Help with hot flushes having stopped hrt
« on: December 15, 2013, 09:57:59 AM »

Hello ladies

Not been on here for a long time but need advice again. I had been taking femseven patches (think that's what they were called) really helped with meno symptoms especially the flushes which bothers me the most anyway they have been a nightmare to keep on so briefly switched to tablets which made me ill so went back on patches. After having to get repeat perscriptions and doc complaining I'm using too many decided to stop them. As you have probably guessed hot flushes have started bad as ever though I like the fact I seem to have fully stopped my periods now. I need advice on how to stop them again? read starflower helps? but worried I might feel sick with them as I have a very sensitive stomach which means I hardly have fruit and veg as it can upset my stomach for days. Is there any advice you all could give me in what to do for the best ? Do not want to carry on trying new hrt tablets or patches as I'm fed up of all the new symptoms I seem to get, such a shame the femseven would not stick, tried different places and methods to keep them on! Help Please x

I had similar with Femseven patches - it's very common that they fail to stick and my doc was also grumbling about using too many - so I switched back to Evorel which stick wonderfully well - although they can have the downside of giving PMT symptoms if you are susceptible to the particular progesterone in them.

Sorry to say but I found HRT was the only thing that stopped my flushes. I am off it at the moment due to almost getting to 60 (long story) and the sweats are horrible. I will try to persuade my doc to re-prescribe in the New Year.
