Early period, just checking please?
« on: November 17, 2013, 12:04:57 PM »

Hi

I am on Femoston 1/10 (14 white oestrogen only and 14 grey dygesterone/oestrogen)

I am only 7 days into the dygestrone/progesterone pills, and have 7 left to go, but have got a bleed this morning.

I am just checking that this is normal, and probably my own normal cycle happening in the background.

Many thanks.

I have come on my period and I am only

Hi Dandelion - didn't you start the new HRT earlier than it said on the instructions?

"Instead of starting to take mine on the first day of my cycle, I wrongly started taking then on the 24th day of the last cycle."

Hi Taz and hope you are well

I started HRT 24 days into my last cycle on 28th October, but, then, on theh 30th I got my natural period.
Sorry I didn't include that in my first post, as I was afraid of straying from the point and complicating things.

Can I just carry on taking my HRT as normal?

Thanks

Yes - it may take a while for it all to even out. Just carry on as if you haven't had a bleed.

Hi Dandelion - Just thought I'd post in as well. Taz is absolutely right - just keep going - your own hormones will have some influence but eventually the HRT will be dominant and you'll have a routine with the withdrawal bleeds.  How are you feeling at the moment? Has the progesterone part been OK?  Are you sleeping well? Is your anxiety settling a little?  DG x

Hi Dancingirl and Taz

I am pleased  you confirmed that it is ok to keep on with the pills.

Thanks for asking how I am DG.
So far the dygesterone is not causing any problems, thankfully.
My anxiety is still bad and I am now sweating in bed, so the fan has come out again, but I understand these are just fluctuations in hormones.
I am also undergoing a lot of stress, because I have just been refused government help to replace my boiler and get me double glazing, as even though I have coverd my windows it is still cold, nothings the same as upvc windows for warmth.
Also, the gas safe engineer said that the heating system passed his checks but it is an inefficient system, and very expensive to run, so, no wonder i am feeling anxious.
I know this is normla though, I am no longer worrying about hormones not working, as I know it's early days.
My doc wants to see me at the end of December so I can hang on till then.

I wouldn't worry about your boiler being inefficient - if it's still working ok that is the most important thing.
What is scary is how fast the cost of heating is going up. It may be worth contacting your energy provider for help with insulation and advice.  Also, there are schemes to help people with energy efficiency measures - possibly help with getting a new boiler which you pay for through your monthly bills?  Maybe this is what you have been doing - sorry if I'm telling you things you already know. When finances are tight this kind of thing is really stressful - no wonder you are anxious.
Good luck  DG x

Hi DG

I enquired wtih the Citizens Advice Bureau on help with energy efficiency, and I am not eligible for the scheme.

Thanks though.

Hi again, I'm not worrying, I am just bumping this up to ask a question.

Normally my periods go like this. One very heavy day, two light days and two-three lighter days.

This period is showing no signs of getting lighter. It just keeps coming and coming. It's not really really heavy, but it's  not like my usual ones.

Again, not worried, just wondering why this is.

Thanks

It's probably because of the HRT. You will soon settle into a rhythm so give your HRT a chance and stop worrying.
This is one of the reasons we have told you to give it three months.

Hi honeyb

Thanks. I'm not worried, I just want to learn more about my body and how it works.
I have a smear booked for the 27th and I have to go. Was going to be this week but they wont see me because I am bleeding.

There is a huge amount of information in the green menu on the left. It will give you all the details that you need and explain what is happening to you. Then when things turn up you won't stress about them.

It's all by Dr Currie who is the expert so you can trust what is said. That should put your mind at rest.

I have been on Femeston 1/10 for 2 years almost and I have had several bouts of odd timings with periods, I would not worry it is likely to be your normal period interupting or the hormones going a bit funny, it does take a long time to settle.
