Questions re symptoms please
« on: November 07, 2013, 10:38:06 AM »

Hi Ladies

I forgot my HRT on Tuesday, and only realised on Wednesday, so, followed the instruction leaflet and it said to leave the forgotton pill and just carry on as normal, as I had realised after 12 hours.

Because of this, I got my symptoms back yesterday afternoon, really strong, but they soon reduced after a few hours of taking the missing pill.
They never fully went though, they just cleared up to the level they were on Monday, which is not enough.
The flushes did reduce the day after I started HRT last week, but they have not fully gone.

Do you think I am not getting enough oestradiol?
Do you think I should go back to the doctor and ask for Femoston 2/10?

Many thanks.

I can't remember how long you have been taking this product  :-\ sometimes it takes a few weeks to kick in.  Have a word with a Pharmacist?

Sorry to perhaps sound repetitive, but you need to give it three months.

Please give it time to see if it is going to work for you. Eleven days even if you miss a pill is not enough to consider changing.

Not sure what else to say to reassure you because we have said this before.

Try to stop worrying.

honeybun's right, dandelion...it is really early days yet and it does take quite a time to see the full effects.

Missing one won't have made a difference at this stage, so try to stop worrying about it and give it time.

Give it time - the others are right. To restore the hormone balance takes time and if you are peri-meno - which I think you are- you will experience fluctuations until you are a year or so beyond post meno.  It's good to start on lower doses as sometimes too much oestrogen can give funny side effects as well as too little - I experienced this when I was peri and felt very strange because the oestrogen level of one of the HRT types I was trying was too much for me.
Try not to worry if you miss the odd pill - you will get into the habit of remembering but as the body stores oestrogen, occasional lapses won't matter.
The know several ladies who are taking the Femiston HRT you are on and are very happy - so do persevere.
By the way, have you noticed you are sleeping a bit better - when I went back on HRT after a break a few years ago, that was the first beneficial thing I noticed - it was so great.

Hang in there Dandelion.....it is early yet for you to experience the full benefits of HRT.  It will get better but it takes a while.  The doc will probably not be willing to switch you this early anyway.  I agree with what the others have said....wisdom is what you are getting here. :)
