Oral HRT users? Food what works for you?
« on: October 28, 2013, 08:50:24 PM »

Hi

I take my oral HRT after I have eaten, just because I heard that it is best to take pills with food, unless otherwise stated.

The info sheet says you can take with or without.
I have the theory that if digestive or stomach problems are possible, they are more possible, with the pill hitting the empty stomach wall, a more intense absorption.
Perhaps taken with or after food, there is a cushion, and the pill is absorbed alongside the food, so that a less intense absorption is achieved.

Oral HRT users, what are your preferences? what works for you?

Thanks

I take mine after breakfast simply because it can cause me to feel nauseous on an empty stomach  :sick02:
I don't think it affects the absorption of the hormones but I could be wrong...

Different medicines come with different instructions.

Utrogestan has to be taken at night on an empty stomach.

Think you are over thinking your HRT Dandelion. Just take it and try to stop worrying.

Hi and thanks.

I will continue to take it with food though, to minimize nausea.
