Another newcomer in need of sympathetic friends
« on: September 06, 2013, 06:18:40 PM »

Hi - this looks like the sort of forum I need right now.
I'm 55 and after a year or so of muddled monthlies the dreaded hot sweats and flushes are upon me. I'll go take a look at the threads on the subject, but meantime has anyone tried the Boots Ladycare Magnet?? I read about it on another forum but it sounded a bit too good to be true!

Hi Gypsy

 :welcomemm:

If you put lady care magnet into the search box you will be able to read past posts. If I remember correctly it is very good for  attaching you to shopping trolleys but everyone is different.

Browse around and join in....lots of help and friendship here.

Ha ha - love the idea of women walking around supermarkets attached to their trolleys!
From what I've gleaned so far, it looks like different strategies work for different people. I've failed to find any starflower oil anywhere - but will keep looking.
The reason for the user name is because I travel a great deal and that's one of the reasons why I can't order stuff online. I'll be leaving England soon to travel around Europe for the winter and I'm hoping to find something to take with me to help me cope with these new symptoms.

I envy your lifestyle gipsy. I'm nervous about planning our first family holiday in 3 years since menopause hit let alone travelling around europe for months. Hope you have a wonderful time and manage to cope with any symptoms that creep up.

Thanks, Delilah. The OH and I have got so used to travelling around we get jumpy if we stay in one place for more than a few months!

Having looked around the forum threads (well, just scratched the surface really) I'd like to keep a sort of diary thread. Would that be okay d'you think? I guess I'd need to open a thread under Personal Experiences.

Yes please!  :) When my husband retired in 2005, we travelled round the world for 6 months......camping. I'm all camped out now! Next trip will do in more luxury.

Great idea gypsy, i for one would love to hear about your travels and how you get on with the menopause whilst travelling.  I'm sure it'll make really interesting reading. Where are you planning on heading to?

We'll be off across the channel in our motorhome in the next week or two. The motorhome is a Hymer Tramp so I'll start a thread titled 'Travels with Trampy' when we leave.
