New Member using Evorel Sequi Patches
« on: August 19, 2013, 05:49:32 PM »

Hi, just joined and wondered if anybody else is using these patches? This is the second week now and I must say the hot flushes have reduced considerably. I was having a bit of trouble with them sticking but by putting them on my hip I seem to have sorted that out. Onwards and upwards  :)

Hi LizzieP

I just wanted to say

 :welcomemm: !

Glad you are feeling better already!

I used these patches when I first went onto HRT and the first two weeks suited me fine. Some of us have found the second 2 weeks with the progestogen haven't agreed with us so have changed to a different one but you may be one of the many women who get on well with them all the way through the month.

Fingers crossed you feel better and better!

hello lizziep

I am new here too and also started on evorel sequi and I loved the first 2 weeks, not so good on the 2nd, but I have read that they suit many women. Lots of good advice on here.

Hi Ladies,

Thank you both for replying and the welcome  :)

Oh dear, and there's me thinking I've cracked it with the patches  :'(
I'm really hoping that the second week isn't too bad. I can't bear the thought of going back to how it was.

Fingers crossed it isn't all bad.

Hope you're both coping as well as you can. Awful isn't it feeling rubbish and hot all the time.

hello again

didn't mean to sound down about it. Life is still soooooooo much better on evorel than off it. Hot flushes almost gone, aches and pains much better and just generally FEEL better. Even doing some exercise and have lost a bit of weight. Even tho the progesterone phase is not the best of times it is still better than I had before. I was amazed at how much better I feel and how quickly it worked.

And yes, it is rubbish feeling like rubbish!! The hot weather really gets to me and before the evorel I was hardly sleeping either. Thats improved as well--so good luck with it all.

Hi again LizzieP

Just think positive and you will feel as well as you can! I am fine now - I changed my regime shortly after starting HRT at age 54 and I'm 60 now. I have had to reduce my dose a little recently and have had a few flushes and sweats back, but not like pre-HRT. No way would I go back to how I was feeling before (ie off HRT), if I can possibly help it and if there is no medical reason why not to.

Hi,

I have been on Evoral Sequi for about 14 months now and I can honestly say they have been wonderful, I am fine on the progesterone, no problems at all.  I have lost over 3 stone, have my motivation back and feel a lot younger , no sweats or flushes.

I shall be staying on these as along as I can!
try not to worry chances are you will be fine x

Just logged back on again and am feeling much better after reading the comments.

I can't remember the last time I slept through the night due to wakeing with sweats. The hot weather obviously hasn't helped. So I'm hoping that if anything I can get a decent nights sleep.

The sweats during the day have reduced considerably already although I can handle those better than the night ones when I do get them.

I tried various over the counter pills and products costing a small fortune before deciding to go down the HRT route. But 2 weeks ago I felt so rough that I practically ran round the doctors and asked for a perscription. So tired all the time and totally washed out. Couldn't concentrate at home or work. Basically a mess  :-\

But so far so good and I'll just have to see what week 3 brings next week.

Thank you all or your positive comments. Wishing you all the best  :)

Lizziep

PS, where can I find spellchecker on here please?

Hi Ladies,

Just a quick update from me.
Well into week 3 of the patches and so far so good regarding the sweats day and night.
Still waking up through the night although I think that's more habit now than anything else.

Just one small issue I've got, I tend to put the patches on my hip. They sit there nicely and don't move. But since the weekend I have had the most painful right hip. Almost to the point of not being able to walk like if I had a bad back. I don't suppose for a nano second it's anything to do with the patches but very strange being in the same place and very painful  :'(

Lizzie
keep an eye on that hip pain, I have two hip implants with long metal pins into the bone.I tried elleste duet 1mg a number of times but the longest I lasted was a few days on the estogen because they made me psycho but it is interesting that on all occasions of using hrt the pain in my bones  was horrendous which I had to take morphine for. I too thought it was just coincidence but now not too sure . It is worth bearing in mind. Take care.

Hi jo61,

That's food for thought.
I'll certainly keep an eye on the pain. It's a strange place to have it, in the hip.
I do get bad backs now and again, but this pain is totally different.

Hope you're feeling better now  :)

Take care,
