Hate technology

Tried to get into my hotmail account today. Eh no need security coded clearance. Some new blooming thing. Racking my brains, which are mush, trying to sort it out. They said I could only gain access once they'd sent the code - to my email address which I couldn't get into, could I cos I needed the security code.......
Anyway, suddenly remembered I'd set up a yahoo email address some time ago, so got them to send code there, which sorted the whole darned thing. Good grief, why didn't they give me code before they changed the system?
Much as I appreciate the need for increased security, why make things so hard. I had to remember various answers to security questions, not passwords or anything like that. Hubby's been shut out of his for days and had similar problem trying to get around it.

My hotmail is fine? I can't find anything online about changes which is worrying. I got shut out of mine a few months ago but that was because someone had hacked the account. Did yours get hacked?

Don't think so Taz. Tried to get into my account on main computer but first page says you need a secure numerical code which I didn't have. OK on tablet as always signed in, but not on main computer as hubby uses that one mostly.  So had to go through another account. But it's working fine now.  I've made a complaint though!

We have an online learning thingy at work and I tried to log in today and got my password wrong 3 times.  I had to click link to reset password and tried using the one I usually remember best, but I had to use a combination of capital letters, small letters and numbers so it did not get clearance.  I was putting another in when I thought of one which would work better for me memory-wise and then I realised that had been the one I set last time!  Doh  :bang:  I wonder if I'll remember it this time  ::)

Have received email from outlook apologising. They have been having problems for a  number of days causing folk to be blocked out of their hotmail accounts. They say they have learned from this.  It was a technical issue with them, not me.Phew!  :)
