I've not posted for a long while as I thought things were getting a little better over the last year, that I'd made it over the hill and an end was in sight. I'm 58 next month and still having spotting , not really bleeding but there especially after intercourse or doing exercise, it's stopped by a couple of hours. I used to have mega heavy bleeding and that ended 18 months ago, since then my periods were much lighter and shorter and skipping months. I had a small period last October that lasted 3 weeks and then skipped 4 months although felt each month it was trying to come. I thought at last it had stopped and then in March had a week of slight spotting. I needed a hip replacement and kept putting it off due to the heavy bleeding I had been having but by Feb I could hardly walk and I thought it had stopped. So I was scheduled for surgery end of May and the night before surgery I started bleeding, thankfully not heavy, but not fun to deal with when recovering from THR. I was also anaemic prior to surgery so was given iron tablets. Since then I just keep spotting , every time I "DO" anything it's there! I had a hysteroscopy 16 months ago at age 56 and was told everything was fine and I had to really push to have that done. My GP practise just say it is probably hormonal but I just find it incredibly worrying and stressful all the time. Hip op and recovery went well, can walk again and just want to get on with my life instead of being in panic mode every time I see blood. Any ideas why I am still spotting like this? My GP is against HRT as I am over 54 and still having bleeding.
