Allas Smith and Jones fame - died on Friday of a heart attack - aged 60

I heard about that earlier. So sad

He had addiction problems and was carrying too much weight for several years. We forget that the organs internally will gain fat too

He was overweight. Never knew about his addiction problems though. Sad that another relatively young man has passed.

Wasn't there something about addiction to OTC painkillers?
Think it started after an operation , he kept on with the pain killers indefinitely......

They said he was taking about 60 a day at one point. His speech was badly affected.

I think there are a lot of rumours about Mel Smith, he had a stroke in 2009 and that was what probably effected his speech, he did talk about taking too many Nurofen which caused him stomach ulcers, but said he had overcome his addiction to them.

I read that he was 60. Had no idea about the stroke or addiction. I do know that John Lloyd said that he had been unwell for some time.
Very sad news.
