Sorry grumpy but you will never get back to how you were before you started the meno journey. The high oestrogen is responsible for our womanly shape (pear) - fat on hips and thighs, nicely defined waist, and when this falls we become more android ( masculine shape) with skinny thighs, less of a bum and that wonderful layer around the middle ( must do some more sit ups).
As honeybun says we have to eat less and as soon as I realised I was starting to put weight on I switched to a smaller plate for my main meal so that I would eat less and try and eat a fairly low fat and minimal cakes/pastries/crips etc diet.
You have to make the best of it with diet and exercise and keeping the muscles strong round the abdomen and consciously pull yourself in, good posture and you can still look and feel OK though!
Tough I know but really when you get used to it, it becomes second nature.
I do sometimes look at younger women and their figures wistfully and think I was like that a few years ago!!
Hey ho - no point in getting depressed about it.... we're post-meno for a long time!!!
