Hi tinabee
Welcome from me too
No wonder you haven't felt good since your hysterectomy as you have been given a really low dose of oestrogen and at your age you would naturally have had much higher than this.
Oestrogen deficiency, together with possible tesosterone deficiency could lead to low mood and depression.
As Taz suggests you need to have investigations for your migraines, because these are debilitating, and it is in your interests to find out the cause, so that you can take the hormone replacement your body needs.
As well as the nigraine investigation I would ask to be referred to a menopause clinic or specialist gynae to do a tesosterone test and take it from there. There is a lot of information on this site
- about menopause and HRT after hysterectomy here:
http://www.menopausematters.co.uk/aftermeno.php- and about testosterone in women here:
http://www.menopausematters.co.uk/testosterone.phpI really wouldn't take the Black Cohosh - well at least in the long term - as it is only ever used for short term symptom relief, and safety in the long-term has not been properly researched. No harm in taking the ones you have bought though.
However it is really hormones you need - especially oestrogen, at a higher dose - to protect your bones so I would concentrate on the migraines first and then if possible move towards a higher dose of oestrogen.
Hope this helps and keep us posted re how you get on.
