Tonight we had haggis, mashed tatties & mashed squash. Then rest of last night's apple crumble with custard.

How long were you catching the haggis, probably the 'right' weather - they'll be out in the snow ;-)

Tonight I'm home alone, and there's a fillet steak in the fridge!  So I'm going to slice it up and do it with onions and mushrooms in a sauce made from stock, paprika and Quark - served with rice it will be a yummy 0-Syn alternative to a creamy stroganoff  :)

Grilled salmon with a chilli and ginger sauce, lemon rice and a selection of veggies but yours sounds so much more interesting Scampi! x

ER, keep it warm, I'm on my way.  ;D ;D ;D I love salmon, but hubby not a lover of it apart from smoked.

So, I'm making sweet & sour chicken.

So back to my question about those who buy salmon - please avoid 'farmed' even if it means paying more for line caught  :'( - salmon are a migratory species and this instinct is being denied, also many farms are PLAGUED with lice which means the fish have to be treated with chemicals ........ which they can't swim away from.

Many years ago a well known rock star went North and bought a fish farm, he was so disgusted with what he found he sold up.

Find a fisherman in your area, most of us have fish 'over' to requirements and will be happy to either give or sell if approached.  These are fish that are grown in good conditions and put into lakes to swim free ....... not all are savvy enough to avoid the hooks though these are barbless which means that they are able to escape!

Tonight: Himself is smoking 2 large line caught trout and I'm having a chicken curry

An extra place is set cubagirl, I'd set off now though if I were you!!

I buy wild salmon CLKD from a brilliant local fishmonger but you're right it is much more expensive. I think it has a stronger flavour, probably because it's had to work harder! x

Well Done  :medal: Elizabethrose

Himself is now washing his smoker, he will then take the lot to his Cabin and set fire to it, putting the marinated fish into smoke.  Lovely warmed through with freshly made bread ;-)
