Daughter's staying with us this week.  When I got home from teaching this afternoon, she'd made a lovely veggie/cheesy pasta bake, which was delicious.  Bless her  :-*

Oh that's nice Dulciana!  We had a bit similar - as eldest son is back living with us for a bit after his travels and tonight he cooked us a risotto - recipe learnt from former Italian girlfriend - and made (for us) with various fungi collected from woods nearby - chanterelles, bay boletes and hedgehogs ( a type of fungus!) - delicious it was too.  Also simple ingredients. The portions weren't big so I made baked apples (and custard at son's request!) from our orchard - so quite a lot of food from the land tonight....

I dined out this evening - I'd been teaching in the afternoon and had a choir practice in the same place a bit later.  So I went to a nice little cafe nearby and had a beef stir-fry.  But it wasn't the usual chow mein-y sort of thing - they used wide noodles, a fancy green veg that I couldn't identify, strips of very succulent beef and a rich sauce.  Really fired me up for playing.   :)

Venison steaks in a mushroom sauce with an artichoke, avocado, pea shoot and spinach salad.

Starving at the moment, been trying to be good since a naughty week in Paris (far too much cheese, bread and pastries - if I'm honest too much of everything!!) so lunch is fruit and yogurt. It's just not enough to keep me satisfied until supper, so lots of green tea until my appetite reduces again. I find the more I eat, the more I need the next day. After a life time of being pin thin and able to eat gigantic portions of anything, this peri meno lark of easily piling on the pounds is a total bore!

Role on supper!!

Beef and prawn satay, Thai sticky jasmine rice and a crunchy Thai salad with dressing. Trying to be less boring!
