I'm getting all cheffy tonight.
This takes time patience and forward planning. It also takes all my skill....

Egg chips bacon and beans.....and hubby fries the eggs as mine always break  ;D

Oh with bread and butter so might have a bit of a chip buttie.

Heck I know how to live  ;D

In my defence we are having duck breasts for dinner tomorrow.

I have the duck breasts in fridge for in week, they were good, enjoy HB.

Loaf is just a large white Sparkle, the wholemeal is a bit too filing and they had no brown bread flour in tesco this week.  So though I am not really keen on white health wise, its better than a shop bought one :)

5 spice lamb in slow cooker for later, brown loaf in bread maker, first (poor) attempt at shortbread cooling in tray... think that may need more practice.

If you add some ground almonds to shortbread then it helps makes it crunchy. Try not to over work it and don't use a rolling pin. If you are using a tin to bake then press it gently in with your fingers and then smooth with the back of a spoon. Then **** it gently with a fork. It's easy to overbake so take it out when it just starts to turn colour. It crisps up as it cools.

I can fish out a recipe for you if you want......Scotland is the home of shortbread  ;D

200g butter
100g castor sugar
50g ground almonds
200g plain flour
50g cornflour
pinch of salt.

Cream butter and sugar. Add flour, almonds, and cornflour. Knead a little but don't over work. **** lightly after you put it in the tin. Cook for about 25 mins at 170

Today, made a batch of jam tarts, brown loaf in bread maker, made root veg and fennel soup in pan now cooling ready for blender.. just add coconut cream later when re-heating.

I have come back here as 'finally' located the ground almonds so I can do 'take 2' of the shortbread later, will let you know how it goes.  Just writing down above recipe now :)

Cut  it when it's hot and still in the tin into squares or fingers. Dredge with sugar and then leave until cold.
Hope it tastes good.
