No clutter ? Have you grub to heat up when you arrive ……. some of those camping boil in a bag are useful, pour a kettle into an opened curry i.e. leave for 8 mins., eat.

Himself makes burgers: buys fresh mince, chops ginger, garlic, adds salt/pepper, sometimes mushrooms and peppers - could that work for balls?

sounds nice that, but we would need some new potatoes or brown rice with it. Carbs are the building blocks of energy and, within reason, are necessary. We need a balance of all the food groups.
