MrsB - I had the 1st new potato last night, I dug it up in a quiet corner of the garden from a root grown there 2 years ago.  It tasted lovely!  We have bought a few but they don't taste the same, nor do Jersey Royals taste as they did when I was a kid!?! ........ Himself will lift a root later to see if any are ready in his patch  :).  With freshly grown mint ...... nowt better  8)

Then we have cold chicken with sweet corn, peas in the pods for lunch/supper tomorrow as it's Wall-2-Wall Sport on TV!

.... butter with black pepper ? along with softly steamed broad beans ....... butter and black pepper?

Chicken done.  Eaten.  Although we paid nearly a tenner for a farm raised it doesn't taste much different from a Supermarket bird  ::)

We have taste tasted loads of different ones CLKD.
I really want to taste a huge difference between cheap ones and organic ones but I just can't.
We have now settled on a British chicken from our fishmonger. These are sold as anti biotic free British chickens..
They taste really good.

Does he sell fish as well  :D -

It really does depend on how much chicken grub, i.e pellets or mash, that the birds have access to.

Thai chicen curry, chinese vegetables and lemon grass and coconut rice. Delicious, even if I say so myself but when I look at my devastated kitchen I wonder whether it was worth it. Jasmine tea and a Hotel Chocolate raspberry chocolate whilst I'm cleaning up. Hubby has feet up watching Wimbledon  :poke2:

Just passed my lovely fishmonger and saw some dinosaur crabs in the window: now how's a gal to resist those little fellas?! Double the price my lovely fisherman charge in Cornwall but needs must!

Tonight it will be pick your own with a crunchy green salad, roasted tomatoes and maybe some roasted asparagus too. Oh and a crunchy baguette.

Its a quick tea tonight - jacket spuds with local sausages and baked beans. Last night I did local new potatoes, local ham and a huge salad but today I've had Mum here all day and had to dash out while she was asleep after lunch and then have to take her back to her care home in a while so its a quickie tonight.
