I've had a few weeks where if feel like I've had a big hormone dip. I get some symptoms that always come in batches, like left hip and back ache, palpitations, nausea and hunger on waking, but the absolute worst symptom is where I feel like I'm dying just as I drift off to sleep. My heart feels as if its beating slowly and I jolt awake. It is often accompanied by very bad muscle twitches/restless legs.
My GP has just prescribed a higher dose of evorel sequi (100 up from 75), and I've just put the first patch on today.
Not expecting miracles, but just to feel a bit better and get some refreshing sleep.

Thank you all so much for your replies.  I know it is an awful thing to say, but it is reassuring that I am not the only person who gets these symptoms.

Honestly, the meno is an absolute minefield that we are totally unprepared for isn't it?   I always assumed it consisted of a few hot flushes and mood swings and then only if you were really unlucky :(

I would just love to feel normal again, whatever that is, can't say I can actually remember :'(

Does anyone get bad phlegm at night. I can't sleep at all, just about to go off and start spluttering, or heart starts ticking fast and then the heat for a couple of minutes. Then the pillow gets annoying. Find it hard to get comfy as my neck seems to ache some these days and my shoulder. Had 2 glasses of wine earlier - think its that but only small ones.
