Christmas alone?
«

Is anyone else spending Christmas alone? I am and feeling ok about it. I shall of course be cooking myself the full Christmas dinner albeit without the crackers. Pulling crackers on your own is just a step too far................ but will have the chicken, stuffing, roast potatoes, stuffing etc and pudding to follow. Have kept a good book to read in case the tv does not live up to the hype and a box of chocs in case Santa does not bring any! (I remember the year well when I had no chocolate - never again!).

Good for you Bramble cooking yourself the works on Christmas day. Will you be having a glass of wine too with the meal?

and a glass of champagne before and when cooking - and liqueurs afterwards
Sounds lovely Bramble. I will be with family this year. I have spent Christmas on my own in a recent year and I actually quite enjoyed the luxury of doing what I wanted and just pleasing myself.
I hope you have a lovely day Bramble filled with peace and happiness.

I have had many a Christmas on my own and loved it, I always cooked a full Christmas roast and lots of liqueur chocolates and presents to open.
Never felt lonely.

Just hubby & I for Christmas meal this year. Son popping by for a bite at lunchtime as his GF is working until 1pm or so. Babies still need to be looked after on Christmas day.
Prawn Cocktail, our favourite.
Chicken and all the trimmings, Hubby hates turkey.
Boozy trifle hic!

No, I won't be alone, but it wouldn't bother me if I was, because its just another day.

I wish that it could be just another day; would be happy just with OH or on my own. That can't be as can't leave Mum alone. The trouble is, she hates it as much as I do really as it just reminds us of happier times before my dad, my brother and then his son died. We both cope so much better all the rest of the year.

That sounds wonderful being on your own and only pleasing yourself, eating when you want, doing what you want and watching on tv what you want...sounds bliss you enjoy the peace and quiet, this would not bother me either.
I will be having mess, squabling stress and trying to keep everyone happy...and be completely worn out cooking and taking care of 14 people!
You enjoy your you time

I've never spent it on my own, don't think I'd like to but you sound like you've got it all planned out Bramble, enjoy. I think for the first year ever, I'm not going to get Christmas crackers - no one could be bothered with them last year and I'm the only one who ever wears the hat!
