Now I know something else that I love about UK, Europe.  So many cultures and individual languages so nearby.  Not so in US.  Even regional accents are blending into a grey mush. Viva la something.

Just read your post CLKD.  I hope you went along and you found it a bit easier.
Have you considered buying a French CD also?  Beginners?  Conversational?  Not to confuse you, but to keep the accent and language in your mind.  You can practice bits.  Does not matter if it is exactly the same as the class - it will all blend together at some point.

Hope you enjoyed the class better today.

I have to say, my mind is so full of lots of things that it seems empty of French the last couple of days.  Ah well, c'est la vie!

We are back.  Enjoyed it surprisingly  and the tutor can see I'm struggling so doesn't aim too many questions at me but does jabber away in French 

Himself has CDs which are in his ear-piece a lot

Oui, tu as raison (you're right). Monter is to get up, climb up and takes 'etre' in the past tense (composé: past participle) as it's a verb of motion.

Glad your 'cours' (lessons) are going well CLKD. Nothing like spending time in France to learn....I spoke appalling school french when i went and got chucked into the deep end as we chose an area to live where il y a tres peu d'expatriés et il faut se mettre a apprendre le francais

Yes, think you are right but cannot find rose wine translation anywhere - it's all french to me

Okay, at the risk of sounding stupid ..... and missing an irony in the written word.

Rose with an accent (?) above the e is French for pink - that's why it is called Rose wine.
(sorry cannot do the french e on my keyboard).

Now if I have missed any tongue in cheek humour, throw something at me now

FW - Can't believe how dense I've been!  As you were trying to tell me: the word rose with the accent is french and I was trying to find a translation of it as if it was an English word!!!  Think I'm having meltdown this week caused by 'issues' at work!
