Cheesy bacon Yorkshire pudding and veggies for son and me, bacon and Yorkshire separately for hubby 'cos he doesn't like "mixed up food"

I scored a bargain in Sainsbury after work today - a ready to roast turkey breast joint reduced from £5.50 to £1.89!! It was delicious! I made black pepper potato and butternut squash wedges with it, carrots and green beans but totally forgot to make any gravy, so I had to have LOADS of apple sauce with it! My partner works evenings so he'll have his when he gets home - and keep some for sandwiches for tomorrow.

Tonight was lambs liver and onions with mash and peas.  Delicious, even though I cooked it myself! ;)

Chicken on the BBQ with salad and baked potatoes.

Funny how chicken tastes so much better when it's cooked like that.

I cook for one every night but a bit in a rut food wise. Anybody got any quick and tasty ideas for tea?
You know when you don't fancy anything but need to eat? That's how I feel this week!

We tried this last week - from the Good Food website. It was quick to prepare and then you just put it in the oven and leave it alone - I like that!

125g ball mozzarella , torn into small pieces
50g strong cheddar , grated
1 tbsp wholegrain mustard
4 skinless boneless chicken breast fillets
8 smoked streaky bacon rashers

Heat oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6. Mix the cheeses and mustard together. Cut a slit into the side of each chicken breast, then stuff with the mustard mixture. Wrap each stuffed chicken breast with 2 bacon rashers - not too tightly, but enough to hold the chicken together. Season, place on a baking sheet and roast for 20-25 mins.

Veggie version: Cheesy baked mushrooms: Heat oven to 180C/fan 160C/gas 4. Mix the mozzarella and cheddar with 1 tbsp pesto, then spoon into the hollows of 4 portobello mushrooms. Place on a baking tray and roast for 15 mins or until the mushrooms are softened and the cheese is bubbling.

Stew & dumplings with veggies from our garden - parsnips, baby carrots and onions ....... home grown potatoes too.

Good old fashioned Rice Pudding made with evaporated milk.

Comfort food as it has been so bleak.

Salad here as it's quite nice outside. Not roasting but good enough, for a change.

We just had spag bol made by husband - even though it's been a scorcher of a day, and we don't do puds - well fruit if we have room. Might do one tomorrow as youngest son coming back from university for the summer so would like to make an effort!!!

Last night we had tapas - I'd bought a Groupon voucher (I LOVE Groupons!!) for 6 tapas dishes between us, and as my partner has a huge appetite (but is skinny as a rake!) we ordered a couple more. Delicious food, but very rich. We also shared a bottle of wine as they had one of those offers where you buy two large glasses and get the rest of the bottle free. We didn't finish it though and asked for the screw top to bring it home. Unfortunately I had to go meet my ex-husband straight after to discuss the (lack of) house sale, half a bottle of red probably wasn't the best idea! My partner works evenings at the moment, Tuesday-Friday, and the Groupon wasn't valid for weekends - we don't usually eat out with wine on a Monday!!
