Oban and surrounding area is lovely - even in the rain  ;).  Haven't been since the early 1990s  ::)

We were there for a lovely week in June.

There are some great places to visit. If you want some ideas then let me know.

If you like seafood then the Seafood Shack on the pier is a must.

Great shops and scenery to die for. We are about a three hour drive away. The roads there are a bit slow but lovely scenery but nothing prepares you for the sight of Oban Bay as you drive down the hill into the town.

Oh I could go on.....but I will restrain myself    ;D

It's lovely there.

The seafood shack is the one that's furthest down the pier not the ones that are outside the shops.
Don't forget to visit Seil Island. You go over the original Atlantic bridge to get there. The views are stunning.

We rented a cottage for a week. There is a great pub called The Barn. It's on the road north out of Oban. The folly is hard to find although you can see it but it's worth the hunt as the views are wonderful.

Enjoy.

Enjoy Hurdity.

I have not been to the festival for years. I think there are more people from other parts of the world there than us Scots.

Hope the weather is kind to you. Edinburgh is a lovely city.

Edinburgh is lovely, great shops. Don't be put off by the building of the tramline, though. You can get bus from airport right into centre of Edinburgh, only £3.50. Well it was last time I went on the airport bus. Much cheaper than taxi and only about 20 minutes.

Mum and I had a lovely break - the weather was great and the holiday park was quiet.  No amenities so no kids - sea wall walk right at the end of the park that took us all the way into town.  We even managed a river cruise on Oulton Broad on the Friday - Mum really enjoyed herself and we'll definitely do it again next year  :)

Thanks CLKD and sorry you are starting to stress over your break now - is there anything you can do before hand to make it feel a bit easier?  Are you planning on taking the campervan?

We've been for a day trip in the 'van to make sure that not too much rattles  ;D - I will take an anti-panic tablet on Sat. night to stop that awful surge  :-\ - my head is looking forwards to it, my gut is saying 'no'  >:(
