So far so good.  Drove straight to the beach at Caister on Sea on Monday, sun came out as we walked on the sand ...... we have been out and about, mainly looking for antiques.  We met up with freinds for a meal on Tuesday evening ....... lots still to do in the area so will need to return later in the year.  Off to spend a few days with Mum and back home on Sunday ready to babysit next week 

Sharp showers and warm sunshine although the wind is COLD unless I am in the shelter.

I tell you what .... I am so glad I booked a weeks holiday in Portugal in June.  SO glad.  The weather I just had on my mid-week break was dire and I was wearing layers and layers of clothes.   I think we all deserve to feel a little warmth on our bones at least once a year.

Poured most of Friday.  Now it's sunny and warmer.  HOME

Isle of Man anyone?  Neighbour has given me a T-towel from his recent visit and it's enthused me  ....... now to getting there

Isle of Man. Went there last year. In August. It bucketed it down. Nicest thing to say about it is that it has had it's day!

How did you get there?

We've been looking at Croatia again for September. Porec is where we went last time in 2007.
We are also looking at Lake Bled in Slovenia, we prefer self catering. I have spent blooming hours on the internet in the last few days.

I've never been to Croatia but two of my sons went to lake Bled last year on separate occasions interrailing last year and loved it and said to us we should go. It looks and sounds lovely.

We stayed in Cavtat, Croatia a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it.  It was peaceful, beautiful and the scenery was stunning.  It's just a short boat or bus ride from Dubrovnik so you get the best of both worlds.

Hotel Croatia in Cavtat by any chance Pennyfarthing?  We went for a week beginning of September a few years back. It was lovely, great weather and hotel was good too. So near to Dubrovnik, which is lovely. We did a few trips. One to Mostar.

How did you get there?

I flew to the Isle of Man. Stayed in Douglas (in a promenade hotel - room on the fifth floor - no lift!!!! - check this when you book). Not a good holiday all round!

Hotel Croatia in Cavtat by any chance Pennyfarthing?  We went for a week beginning of September a few years back. It was lovely, great weather and hotel was good too. So near to Dubrovnik, which is lovely too. We did a few trips too. One to Mostar.

Cubagirl - we stayed at the Iberostar Epidaurus which if you keep walking as far right as you can through Cavtat, you will come to.  It's the very last hotel and in a lovely quiet spot.
