Off to listen to the continuing rain from the comfort of a warm bath  :D. Apart from 10 mins mid morning, it hasn't stopped!

We’ve just had the most horrendous thunderstorm I’ve ever seen.  :o

Ha, OH went to the car to go to work, not joking, he was absolutely soaked through by the time he’d got in, so I rang him, said hang on, you can’t work in saturated clothes all night, I’ll bring you some clean work clothes in a bag, so you can change into them at work, so off I went. 🤣😂
I ended up looking like a drowned rat, clothes were dripping.
10 minutes later OH rang. Said he couldn’t get to work, the roads were flooded and cars were broken down and it was mayhem. ☹️
So he booked the day off through holiday.
He couldn’t even get back up our road, he had to go round and come through the other side, it was up to peoples knees.  :o
He’s had a hot shower, and dry now.  ;D

Why does he need to book this as holiday ?  :-\

After warm sunshine until lunch time the sky became dark followed by thunder ....... then rain ++.  DH was in a boat and came back sharpish, meant unloading during the storm.  Fortunately he has good wet weather kit.

Drive home across the county was dry until 20 mins - managed to unload everything when the rain++.  Like the storm was stalking us  >:(

He won’t lose wages if he uses his hours as holiday.
He’s enough stored up from when he was ill last year.

I’ve warned my son for when he leaves work later.

Good advice.  Any1 seen the news from Bedfordshire ?  A car covered other than the boot which is open ....... companies trying to pump out the area, Morton Montaine, into the sea ........  :-\.

Continues to rain.  Heavily.  Reckon we've had 6" since Sat night across the Midlands.  Blustery. 

At least not in danger as much as in Florida?

Grey, oppressive and depressing!  I'm going to look at flights to sunnier climes.  And search for TV show set in the sun (Death in Paradise, here I come)

Another 3 days of rain.  Now stopped and 4cast is improving.
