It's a different sort of heat though  :-\.  More intense.  More sudden.

It's scorchio here, probably the hottest it's been for months, I was just saying the other day I was enjoying the lovely autumnal weather! I like hot weather if I can lie around by the sea or have a leisurely walk but it's hard when you have lots to do. I have a fan in every room at home and its been my saviour. I can see air con becoming more mainstream in the UK in the coming years.

We had the cool air blower on most of the night.  It lulls me nicely.

I'd love to find a fan that is quiet enough to sleep through. Anyone know if those Dyson ones are any good? Would be worth the expense if they really were quiet.

My counsellor has one and says they are great, she sleeps with it on. Also has a remote control for it by her bed so she doesn't have to get out of bed to turn it on and off.

Or wear earplugs? I've never found any to fit properly in my ears, they must be a weird shape 🤣

I will look into a Dyson fan, thanks Penguin. 3M yellow foam earplugs are v good, you can buy in bulk on Amazon, much much cheaper than in Boots.

Ear plugs can cause more problems than they solve!  Apparently I have narrow, hairy ears which hides the drums  :o.  I often wonder about sports people who use ear plugs daily, i.e. MotoGP and F1 ....... whether they suffer any infections because they lick them B4 inserting  :o

So happy to have sun and blue skies.  I find the gentle lull of a fan to be quite soothing - especially as I know it is a short lived thing
