Very Windy but have seen worse.  I think we may have just caught the tail end of it.

Three trees down on my drive, one hit the car. Can’t get out of the drive, will need to chainsaw the trunk first.
Two drain pipes came off brackets and were swaying in the gusts, had to remove them as don’t fancy getting up ladders to reattach them today.
Fingers crossed that the huge beech trees don’t fall as last time one damaged the roof.
We’ve cut creepers off boundaries in big patches hoping to let the wind through opposed to ripping chain fencing out.

Ponds full of leaves, branches etc so a big clear out now due.

The forests are creaking, seen a few trees go over. Not seen anything like this since 2007/8.

No rain though!

I've heard worse apart from the sudden gusts that drove across the road ...... at least the sun keeps shining, it would be pretty grim other wise.

Some trees down locally but the wind has picked up again, 60mph gusts today  :( when it finally calms down we will have a good look at the roof, we cleared almost every pot in the garden into the sheltered area on Thursday so they should be ok.

We have lost one ridge tile and two are hanging.

Done an online claim form but will probably take ages.

We have no electricity and for most of yesterday no water. As this is a rural area we are usually at the bottom of the pile for supplies to be restored. I’m so grateful the water was restored particularly this morning when the need to flush the loo several times was necessary! It would have been rather unpleasant otherwise! Just a mile away they have electricity. We were prepared for loss of power and have a calor gas heater bought following the hurricane in 1987. It’s been a life saver several times when we’re been without power. We weren’t prepared for no water though. Very wet outside and windy again. It helped yesterday by being sunny despite high winds.

I'm so sorry to hear about what you ladies are dealing with. It sounds like a horrible situation. Hope all turns out well for everyone. :'(

We received even more snow overnight, another 5cms or so, which meant more shoveling this morning. The winds are big deal here too.  They're gusting to 80km/h and blowing around all that new snow.  Visibility is an issue when the wind kicks up. The good thing is the sun is out but with the winds and frigid wind chill, the snow isn't melting.

Whereabouts are you C C? My son lives in Maine, so we get about weather there. He offered the use of his generator, as they have frequent power cuts. Slight logistical obstacles there!

Loads of branches over the garden, but trees still standing. House intact, just cold. Going to transfer some frozen food to my daughters spare freezer tonight, who lives 10 miles away and escaped power cuts, so we don’t have to discard food.

Latest update for restoring power is 11.00pm Monday 21st. As long as we have water…….!
