All flights due to land at Edinburgh Airport are being diverted or delayed.

Images posted to social media showed cars floating in the car park at a Falkirk hotel and at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

Due 2 heavy rain apparently

Huge rain drops about an hour ago from a clear sky

Now it's raining again - in the opposite direction

- with thunder in the background and dark
Don't think we will be sitting on our patio chairs this evening unless it brightens again

I stood at the bedroom window from 3.00-3.30 a.m. and it was calm. Clear. Lots of stars. No noise ...........

Now it's dull. Thunder. Gently raining with big drops

Had a storm last night, I’ve never seen so much lightening

the thunder was a constant rumbling torrential rain and sudden huge gusts of wind, but its brought my outside thermometer reading down from 40 to 20 today, relief

There was an area in the Midlands yesterday who had a sudden drop of temperature

I can't actually remember but it was over a matter of 25 mins.. Bet people dashed for a cardy
