Blustery all night ………. in great howling waves of wind
Milder though - but the wind turned icy yesterday afternoon

A bit breezy, but very mild at over 13 degrees C at the moment, and grey.

Flooding everywhere. Daughter had adventures getting to Glasgow and we could not get to where we wanted to go either. People being rescued by boat in the east of the county and that's where we were going.
Never seen anything like it.

Snow melt Honeybun? It was forecast on the weather forecasts yesterday. Grey here, lights will be on earlier than ever despite the shortest day having been and gone ..

No it's not snow CLKD. That's much further north than we are. It's just the amount of rain we have had combined with a high tide.
The rivers are full and the ground saturated.
We are up a hill so it's fine for us but we drove past a house that was just surrounded by water and men frantically trying to pump water out. Not the way you want to spend Xmas. Poor souls.

I felt so sorry for them Limpy. They were totally cut off and just surrounded by water.

The sad thing it keeps on happening.
Doesn't help those whose houses are wrecked though.......

Nope. But the powers that be insist on building on the flood plains down here
…… and water will find it's own level! I saw a bit of film for the 1st time this week and it showed a flood of water rushing down a street towards a terrace of new builds ……. probably forced it's way straight into their properties

Is anyone surprised, that this being winter, that temperatures are to fall below zero? No. So why are all the TV channels getting their knickers in a twist? Scandinavian countries must be in stitches at our annual winter antics regarding any form of the white stuff on the ground.

I agree. It's Winter, live with it
- lovely blue sky this morning, very sharp frost and pavements are icy. Have broken the birds' water and refreshed the bowls, thrown out grain - have to buy peanuts later ……… hopefully this cold snap will kill some of the bugs
